A variety of new vehicle launches are on the horizon as we approach the festive season. Manufacturers are gearing up to unveil their latest models, with many vehicles already spotted undergoing testing in camouflage. This testing phase suggests that these vehicles are nearing their official launch, and manufacturers are fine-tuning their performance specifications. If you're considering purchasing a compact SUV, it may be wise to hold off a bit longer, as the upcoming models often come with enhanced features and improvements.
Tata Harrier EV - Launching June 3
The Tata Harrier EV has been showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo and has recently been seen testing without camouflage. Tata has announced that the official launch is set for June 3. A notable feature of this model is the electric motor located on the rear axle. Additionally, it will feature a rear independent suspension, which will help maintain its off-road capabilities despite the added weight from the batteries.
Design and Specifications of the Harrier EV
The design of the Harrier EV closely resembles that of the traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) Harrier, featuring a sealed grille, connected daytime running lights, and sleek tail lights. The vehicle will be built on the Acti .EV platform, and reports suggest that its dual motor setup could deliver approximately 500 Nm of torque. While Tata has yet to confirm specific figures, speculation indicates that the Harrier EV may achieve a range of around 500 km.
Hyundai Venue Facelift
Hyundai is preparing to refresh the design of its sub-compact SUV, the Venue. Recent sightings indicate that the new generation Venue is currently undergoing testing. If you're in the market for a new Venue, waiting for the facelift version could be beneficial. Although Hyundai has not disclosed specific details about the updates, it is likely that the vehicle will retain its existing engine options, including a 1.2L MPi petrol, a 1.5 CRDI VGT diesel, and a Kappa 1.0 Turbo GDI petrol.
KIA Seltos Facelift
The KIA Seltos is also set for a cosmetic update, having been spotted testing under heavy camouflage both internationally and in India alongside the new Hyundai Venue. The facelift will likely feature a refreshed front fascia and new headlights, enhancing its overall appeal. Given that the Seltos is available with a hybrid powertrain in some markets, there is a possibility that this option may be introduced in India as well. If you're considering the KIA Seltos, waiting for the updated model could be worthwhile.
New 5-Seater Compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki
Recent reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch a new 5-seater compact SUV, which is expected to be positioned below the Hyundai Grand Vitara and Brezza, reminiscent of the discontinued S-Cross. While details remain limited, this new SUV is anticipated to compete with models like the KIA Sonet and Tata Nexon, indicating an influx of competitors in the sub-compact SUV segment.
Mercedes AMG G63 Collector's Edition
Mercedes is set to introduce a special Indian edition of the iconic G63, which will be a collector's edition with a limited production run. This model will feature unique upholstery, trim pieces, and a bespoke paint finish. It will continue to be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with mild hybrid technology, delivering 585 HP and 850 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
